Father’s Day
Thursday, June 24th, 2010Father’s Day came and went with very little excitement.
I had a good day, my son was with me for every moment of the day (which is why the day could be classified as ‘good’).. We ended up at Mom’s, where she showed us a house and we ate wick’s pizza.
I was relaxed, and rested during the day celebrating my dad-ocity.
Wicks’ Pizza is a weakness of mine. I simply can’t get enough of the stuff. Fortunately, I’m poor.. and wick’s is expensive, so I don’t get it very often.
Day started with church (of course, it was SUNDAY.. hello..). I am incredibly fond of the church I attend now in New Albany. Northside Christian church is the name. I cannot find a single thing I don’t agree with in the preaching.. the music program is bordering on something I feel I should’ve paid tickets for. So it was great fun. I wore my typical blue jeans and a polo.. Debbie wore this nice skirt and top that she is currently loving. My son wore a Tshirt and shorts.. I am typically against dressing THAT far down at church, but since the shirt said “My dad is AWESOME” I decided it was ok.
After church we decided on Wick’s (it was mostly Deb’s idea, even though she isn’t as big of a fan as I am), and decided to get wicks from the store close to my Mom’s house since we’d like to go visit the house for sale over there. We made our way to Mom’s where there was wicks and coke everywhere. I ate until I needed to pass out from eating too much. The rest of the family was better adjusted and simply ate until they had their fill. I went and laid on my mom’s couch and rested (its Terribly uncomfortable, but over 7 feet long.. one of the only couches I can REALLY stretch out on).
Then Deb and Mom had decided we should go see the house. It’s nice enough on the outside.. seems kinda small for my small herd of humans, but not as small as my current home. Then we aimlessly wandered adjacent subdivisions to see about homes for sale.
All in all.. a good day. I got a cool shirt for work.. and the HTC Incredible phone as my father’s day gift. I can’t wait to get that phone..
