Regulators… Mount Up!!
Finally at level 46 dwarfenstuff now has a wicked cool white ram to ride on.
Since I’m not a melee class, I am whiney about not being able to shoot my gun from my mount (I have shots that I can shoot while moving). Alas, to “balance” the game.. I don’t get to. However, this only pulls like 1% of my happiness in getting a mount away from just being WOO HOO!
I hit level 47 last night, and it is now time to take PvP more seriously. I may revert to doing just that and farming leather in tanaris so I can up my leather working skill so I can make a scorpid helm/scorpid leggings. I tried PvP last night for the first time with a mount. Well it still sucked since lvl 49 warrior seems to just annihilate me in a few hits. However, I managed to lead my team to a crushing defeat in points, but I had more kills/damage done to the enemy than everyone on my team.. and all but 3 on the other team (apparently that 49 warrior served up more than just my dwarven booty).
Anyway.. Mounted.. WOOT! Now to make some armor and then forget I have leatherworking and only stock up on leather then make a ton of crap for AH. If I want to get that dragon mount in outland, I gotta save my pennies now. I imagine I will have to pay to train for I think apprentice riding/expert riding/artisan riding to get on the goofy thing.. I think thats got a total in the neighborhood of about 6000g or so. Realistically, I doubt I play that long. I had many thoughts of ditching the game when I couldn’t get my regular mount which was only 100g.
My thoughts are, armor wise.. I’ll be good for a while. I think the only real upgrade of any importance from tough scorpid armor is black dragonscale.. and I think you gotta be at least late 50’s to wear it. That just leaves weapons. A guildy is going to give me a thorium rifle to shoot with and I imagine I could find an axe or sword to hack with up close and personal like in a quest or something. I have another guildy that is a weaponsmith, so maybe he’s the answer to that question. But things of any real consequence in this game seem to require a buttload of ingredients. I may just stick with what I got till past 50 and get my thorium rifle. And see what happens in instances I try to get into for a decent set of 1h’ers (ravager seems pretty good to me still) Eventually I want grimlocks charge (its a polearm, so something new to me) and that would last me a while..has good agility bonus to it.
oh well.. only time will tel

Gratz on the mount! My first toon, I went from level 32 to 42 without buying a single equipment upgrade, just to be able to afford a mount. Now if I start on a new server I am easily able to get 100g by level 30, since I know what I can buy for cheap and resell for more. Level 1 cooking recipes, esp those with +sta and +spi buffs are great - Brill has a Crispy Bat Wing recipe for 25c that can resell on AH for 95s (copper vs silver) for example. I can sell 3 of those a day, easily, and boy does that add up the cash over time!
