LVL 39!! where’s me gold!?
As far as I can find so far, at level 40 I get the ability to purchase a mount. This sounds initially very good, but is hit with a price tag of 100g. Now I personally consider myself a rich bastard for having close to 20g right now. Until I hit lvl 25 I had never had A gold, much less more than one. Did I buy stuff? some.. but I just never find goot loot. Where am I going to find 80g (which by the way, I need about 14g just to rain at lvl 40)?
Answer 1: Instance farming
If you play the game you probably run instance after instance getting crap and posting it in auction house to make some decent gold. So far most of my gold comes from leather. I do skinning and have been in stranglethorn vale (everything is skinnable here). So now a question.. which instance?
Deadmines? Well I find I make about 1g for going there in a 5man group. Being a hunter, I can’t really solo this place, so I’d need SOMEONE there to probably tank.. and a healer. A druid would be best (I love workin with druids.. they root ppl so I can shoot them.. YES!). Pally would come second. My buddy Jay is an awesome warrior, but he is not so interested in raising money for a mount, and more interested in leveling. And lvl 30 guys like me and him can’t get any xp from going through the deadmines. I think the big cash bringer there is the defias armor, anyway.. That and the cruel barb, but that may be BoP.
Stockades? Hell no.. HELL NO! As a hunter (a character that needs range to do the most damage) an enclosed space like the stokades SUCK.
Gnomeregan? I am currently trying to get through there now. I think we need at least a mage to get through (large mobs seem to drain me and Jay down a lot). Healer would be nice, but if the floor blew up an did decent damage to the mob of 5.. who’d need to heal?
Scarlet Monastary? i have wanted to go there for EVER. I wanted this sword called the butcher. It sells for a butt-load of money in the auction house, and now.. I probably would sell it. But it is rare drop, so no guarantees of getting it. One bonus is ravager (a really awesome axe) drops there. Problem: I would need Jay and at least 2 others to handle this instance without dieing a lot.
The problem in the end is this.. I need other people to do these things. AND, the more people I get, the more ways the loot must be split. So Scarlet Monastary looses, for now.. Gnomeregan would be ideal, high enough level to get reasonable drops (even if just greens), but not so high as I need a 5 man to get through. Deadmines is the other alternative, but I think even there I’d need maybe a paladin to get through or a well equipped druid. I would need to heal, and I would need to get help (hunters can’t do squat in melee combat). I’ll inform the world of how this goes down when it does..
